I work with drawing and dialogue in their widest senses, both as a practitioner and a researcher. I am concerned with how drawing can materialise thoughts, feelings and relationships, and how art practices and art activities can create new kinds of knowledge and understanding. I have explored this in various settings with a participants in professional development, physical and mental health and through teaching in higher education.
My work has been seen in the UK, USA and Europe, including residencies at the Art of Organisation and Management conference in Krakow and the Centre for Drawing at Wimbledon College of Art and Design. Crucial to the develoment of my ideas was my role as a Research Fellow at the Creativity Centre, University of Brighton where I researched art-based methods of enquiry and co-authored a series of booklets on Drawing to Learn in Higher Education. I currently teach on the Open College of the Arts online MA in Fine Art.
